Since 2000, First 5 Napa County Children and Families Commission has made it possible for more children to access affordable health insurance and needed dental care. More moms get the support they need in nurturing their newborns. And more Dads learn how to be better parents to their children.

First 5 partnerships have resulted in more preschoolers learning to love books by reading with their parents. More individuals are pursing careers in early childhood development, and more children are enjoying time at a toy-lending library and exploring their creativity.

First 5 Napa County’s commitment means our local agencies are able to do more of what they do best: provide needed services to our young children and their families. As a strategic funding partner with local non-profit organizations and government agencies, First 5 helps grow and sustain innovative programs and services, expanding the capacity of service providers to strengthen our children, our families and our community.

OUR HISTORY     The First 5 Napa County Children and Families Commission was established to manage and distribute Proposition 10 tobacco tax funding in Napa County. Our County allocation is approximately $1.5 million each year.

First 5 Napa County Commission members are committed to improving the lives of children and families in our community. We form strategic partnerships with local organizations and agencies that demonstrate promising and proven strategies for helping young children be healthy, ready to learn, and able to achieve.
