And Tango Makes Three by Justin Richardson and Peter Parnell
This may be the original LGBTQ inclusive book. A true story about two male penguins who partner, adopt an egg, and raise their baby – Tango – together. A favorite of any preschooler who hears it!
Activity
Use whatever materials you have at home to make penguins – we challenge you to make them gender inclusive. For example, remember that all colors are for everyone. And you could name the penguins gender inclusive names and refrain from using pronouns when talking about the penguins (or make same sex parent penguins). You can also make a penguin nest, using small rocks and moss and other soft things.
