Families, Families, Families! by Suzanne and Max Lang

This book uses cartoon-ish animal family portraits to depict all sorts of types of families, including two dads, two moms, single parents, grandparent caregivers, etc. It provides the simple message that families come in all shapes and sizes – if you love each other, you are a family! Activity

Invite your child to make a family portrait of your family. You can include whoever they consider family, including parents that don’t live in the same house, grandparents, aunts or uncles, siblings, and pets.

If you have craft wood sticks, you can use glue and sticks to make a frame for their portrait. For the finishing touch, write Loves Makes A Family on the frame.
