StoryWalk®

Hands-on, outdoors, early childhood reading and art in Napa County.

First 5 Napa County, Napa County Regional Park and Open Space District and fellow program partners collaborate each year to combine the love of reading and a passion for the outdoors

The outdoor story displays are hosted in four popular parks, moving across Napa County from Calistoga to American Canyon and offering families a free, local, child-focused activity during the summer months when school is out of session.

The Napa County program also features a hands-on art activity each year where kids can meet a local artist and participate in creating their own take-home artwork inspired by the current year’s book selection.

Stay tuned for registration and dates/times for 2026, the fifth year of StoryWalk® in Napa County.

The first StoryWalk® project was created in 2007 by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, Vermont and developed in collaboration with the Kellogg-Hubbard Library. StoryWalk® is a registered service mark owned by Ms. Ferguson.

Napa County’s 2025 StoryWalk® program was generously supported by Lewis Cellars.
