First 5 Napa County, Napa County Regional Park and Open Space District and fellow program partners collaborate each year to combine the love of reading and a passion for the outdoors.
The outdoor story displays are hosted in four popular parks, moving across Napa County from Calistoga to American Canyon and offering families a free, local, child-focused activity during the summer months when school is out of session. This year’s dates:
- Saturday, June 27* – Sunday, July 12 Kickoff at Skyline (Napa)
*Kickoff event on this day - July 18 – August 2: Moore Creek Park (St. Helena)
- August 8 – August 23: Wetlands Edge Park (American Canyon)
- August 29 – September 13: Bothe-Napa Valley State Park (Calistoga)
The Napa County program also features a hands-on art activity each year where kids can meet a local artist and participate in creating their own take-home artwork inspired by the current year’s book selection.
